Dear Parents, Is Your Child Facing The Following?

  • Have difficulty scoring in the key components of the Malay Language paper such as Karangan, Kefahaman or Lisan?
  • Lack of interest in the speaking, reading or using the language?
  • Lack of home support or resources to score in the Malay language papers?

Your child is not alone. Many students today struggle to score in the Malay language paper compared to the past. While it is relatively easier to pass Malay compare to Maths, scoring a Distinction (A*/A1) is not easy to achieve even for the higher ability students. With the right support, guidance and learning strategies, your child can make amazing improvement in his/her Malay language skills and eventually attain mastery in the language.

My name is Hayati Abdullah, Principal of Pusat Bahasa NUSA. Prior to founding Pusat Bahasa NUSA, I was an MOE teacher and Subject Coordinator for Malay Language at various secondary schools including Cedar Girl’s Secondary School.

We have helped thousands of students, of various ability levels, prepare for the PSLE and O-Levels Malay paper. Pusat Bahasa NUSA also publishes many books and resources which have been adopted by many schools in Singapore, including our best-selling writing guide book, the Saya Boleh Mengarang series. We are also a regular vendor to MOE schools having provided many Malay enrichment programmes and workshops to over 80 schools in Singapore since 2015.

Pengasas Pusat Bahasa NUSA – Cikgu Hayati Abdullah

Our Strategy

Our Approach

Our Primary Malay Mastery Programme aims to stretch our students’ language capacity, foster their passion, grit and curiosity in the Malay language. This programme is designed by our Programme Director, incorporating research on language acquisition as well as various research-based practices and strategies in the acquisition of the Malay language around the world.

Our main objective is to instil confidence in the students when using the Malay Language either orally or in writing. We would also like to make the learning experience a fun one for the students.

Students will be coached holistically, covering the listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in the Malay Language. Other than written assignments, students will also be exposed to teaching materials from the internet, newspaper, magazine, fiction and non-fiction books.

For more information about our Malay Language Mastery Programme, visit Pusat Bahasa NUSA official website (in Malay Language) at www.nusa.sg
